Shirakiku recalls Baked Red Bean Cake over undeclared milk allergen

On Jan 22, 2022, Shirakiku issued a recall for their product - Baked Red Bean Cake (UPC: 074410 657147, Size: 318g (6 pieces)).

Shirakiku is Wismettac Asian Foods private brand of products that fulfilled the demand for Japanese products in North American markets.

According to Health Canada, “Wismettac Asian Foods Inc. is recalling Shirakiku brand Baked Red Bean Cake from the marketplace because it contains milk that is undeclared on the label. If you have an allergy to milk, do not consume the recalled product as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased. This recall was triggered by the company.
There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of this product.”
