Jif Peanut Butter Canada recalls Peanut butter (Not a food allergy alert)

On May 22, 2022, Jif Peanut Butter Canada recalled multiple peanut butter products. These products have been recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recall currently includes 11 products.

Jif brand belongs to Smuckers family known for the Snuckers jams. Jif brand is known for its peanut butters products across North America.

According to Jif Canada’s website, this is a voluntary recall for the selected products.

Health Canada suggests not to use, sell, serve or distribute these products.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not appear or smell spoiled but can still make an individual sick. Young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious infections.

Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms ranging from nausea and abdominal cramps to fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Health Canada has advised against the consumption of recalled products.

If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, please call your doctor.

This recall is national and affects all Canadian regions including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Northwest Territories, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, Nunavut, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Yukon.

These products have been sold in-store and online.

Most of the products by Jif are Gluten free and Vegan.
